Retrieving files from an inactive user

Hi,

 

We are using the box API to try to retrieve files from a deactivated user (inactive) but the API returns a 401 with the message: "Unauthorized - User has been deactivated".

 

Is there a way using the API to retrieve files from an inactive user?

  Good morning OlivierD,

   

  I understand that this is because despite the fact of having the user deactivated is the same one being used to retrieve the documents through the API. Is that right?

   

  Probably you can create an APP User and associate that user to the same folders as the User deactivated and then use it to retrieve content.
