No phone, for two factor. Unable to generate public/private keypair? or generate public key

Many questions.

I will be using JavaScript to upload files to Box. I guess this is a "New App?

Using JSON I want to authenticate. When I attempt to create either a Public Key or Public/Private key pair for JavaScript authentication, I am rejected because I don't have two factor enabled. I don't have a cell phone so two factor is impossible. Because it is impossible, I can not generate. How do I get around this Box oversight?

I want any photographer in the group (with or without a Box account) to use the JavaScript web page (App?), so this means o2auth is not an option because it requires a Box ID/PW. This is for general use.

I would like to use Box API, but extremely frustrating. No JavaScript authentication examples. The only examples start with a token that was received during authentication. A circular failure. The PhotoShelter API was not this difficult/cumbersome/restrictive.
