Can you upload a ByteArrayInputStream derived from a String?

I would like to upload a CSV file using Java that is represented in memory as just a String.  Is this possible, or do I have to first write this string to the filesystem?  Is there a way to write this file only to memory, and upload from there?  I just want to avoid the I/O overhead writing large CSV files to disk.

  Hoping you solved this but I am guessing not. I am doing the same thing in python right now.
