We have added the ability to create Templates in Box Notes! Templates allow users to quickly start a Note from a set of default templates, or custom templates that they/their team created. The benefits are that new users will be able to jumpstart their first time experience with Box Notes, and existing users can share best practices and standardize on documentation across teams!

We will be adding the ability to create Templates in Box Notes. Templates allow users to quickly start a Note from a set of default templates, or custom templates that they/their team created. The benefits are that new users will be able to jumpstart their first time experience with Box Notes, and existing users can share best practices and standardize on documentation across teams!

Box Sync
  • After October 31st, 2017 Box Sync will no longer be supported on Mac OS X 10.10.  Per our OS support policy, we maintain support for Box on only the two latest versions of Mac OS X. Users must be on a supported OS (OS X 10.11 or OS X 10.12) following the EOL date.  
  • In the month prior to the EOL date, users will see an in-product notification informing them that support for 10.10 will end soon and that they should update their OS.  
  • Following the EOL date, users will still be able to access Box Sync on 10.10 but will be entirely unsupported by Box, including all security patches. 
Box Edit
  • After October 31st, 2017 Box Edit will no longer be supported on Mac OS X 10.10.  Per our OS support policy, we maintain support for Box on only the two latest versions of Mac OS X. Users must be on a supported OS (OS X 10.11 or OS X 10.12) following the EOL date. 
  • After 10/31, users on 10.10 will not be able to access Box Edit. 
Box Notes Desktop
  • After October 31st, 2017 Box Notes Desktop will no longer be supported on Mac OS X 10.10.  Per our OS support policy, we maintain support for Box on only the two latest versions of Mac OS X. Users must be on a supported OS (OS X 10.11 or OS X 10.12) following the EOL date. 
  • Following the EOL date, users will still be able to access Box Notes Desktop on 10.10 but will be entirely unsupported by Box, including all security patches. 
 

We will be adding the ability to grant edit permissions to Shared Links. A user will be able to share their Note via a Shared Link, and users receiving the Shared Link will be able edit the Note as well.

Launched: Restrict Content Creation Fix for Box Notes

Users will be able to change the default save location for their Notes, allowing customers who have the Restrict Content Creation setting turned on to start using Box Notes.

We are excited to have added two additional features within Box Notes: the ability to open any Box Note from your Box file tree and the option to move or copy an existing Box Note to any folder in Box. All users should now be able to leverage these actions now!

We have provided a Windows MSI installer for the Box Notes desktop app, making it easier for admins to mass deploy Box Notes on multiple computers.

We have made it easier for you to find Box Notes by adding a search bar to the lefthand sidebar. You can now search your entire enterprise for any Notes that you have access to and it will show in the search results within Box Notes.

Launched: Box Notes Search

We are going to make it easier for you to find Box Notes! In the Box Notes interface, we're going to add a search bar to the top of the lefthand side that will search your entire enterprise for any Notes that you have access to and show the search results within Box Notes.

Users will be updated to Box Notes Desktop v1.1.0 via a silent auto-update. The update includes spellcheck and login issue fixes.

The More Options menu in Box Notes will gain a new menu item titled "Delete note." In the top right hand cormer, when users click the '...' next to the 'Share' option, they will now see the option to delete a note.

Launched: Box Notes Gets Retention!

Box Notes will now be governed by Retention Management (as part of Box Governance). This change does not require any action on the part of Governance customers; new Box Notes created or moved into folders governed by Retention policies will now be retained.
