Previously, Box Notes only notified users when a comment was made, but not when an annotation was made. Now users will start receiving notifications for relevant annotations. We will also start notifying users about other relevant comments, such as a response to an earlier comment.

Soon, users will have the option of selecting 'can view' or 'can edit' permissions when generating shared links. Box Admins can configure the settings for this feature in the Admin Console in the Content & Sharing tab under the shared links section once it is available. Learn more here

Box Notes is highly collaborative, but sometimes it is hard to know who is in your Box Note! With Box Notes Presence, users will now be able to see who's been active in the note - whether it was for just a quick review or to add content to the note! To make sure Box maximizes your productivity, we have made it easier to see what's specifically changed in a particular Box Note! Before, users would have to  go back and forth between versions or reread the entire note to figure out what was different. With this new update that will be released, you will be able see all new updates highlighted in purple! Check out our guide on Box Notes Differences!

With Inbox, you can immediately see which notes have been edited by someone, including notes that have been shared with you. With blue dot indicators and the updated notes pushed to the top of the list, it's really fast and easy to catch up on all your notes, in one place. To learn more about Inbox, check out our guide!

At Box, we want to ensure that you are able to get the most out of each feature! We will soon make it easier for you to keep track of modified notes with Inbox! Box Notes makes it easy to create meeting notes, share ideas, track status updates and plan projects together — there's no limit to your productivity. To make sure of this, we will be making it easier to see what's specifically changed in a particular Box Note. We have added the ability to create Templates in Box Notes! Templates allow users to quickly start a Note from a set of default templates, or custom templates that they/their team created. The benefits are that new users will be able to jumpstart their first time experience with Box Notes, and existing users can share best practices and standardize on documentation across teams!

Box Sync
  • After October 31st, 2017 Box Sync will no longer be supported on Mac OS X 10.10.  Per our OS support policy, we maintain support for Box on only the two latest versions of Mac OS X. Users must be on a supported OS (OS X 10.11 or OS X 10.12) following the EOL date.  
  • In the month prior to the EOL date, users will see an in-product notification informing them that support for 10.10 will end soon and that they should update their OS.  
  • Following the EOL date, users will still be able to access Box Sync on 10.10 but will be entirely unsupported by Box, including all security patches. 
Box Edit
  • After October 31st, 2017 Box Edit will no longer be supported on Mac OS X 10.10.  Per our OS support policy, we maintain support for Box on only the two latest versions of Mac OS X. Users must be on a supported OS (OS X 10.11 or OS X 10.12) following the EOL date. 
  • After 10/31, users on 10.10 will not be able to access Box Edit.
