Launched: Box Drive Beta v.1.3

Box Employee
We have launched a new version of our Box Drive Beta, v.1.3.This update includes performance and quality improvements along with a change to the drag and drop experience on Windows. After installing this update, dragging and dropping a file into the Box folder will copy the file rather than moving it, leaving the original file wherever it is on your machine. We highly encourage all users to update for the best experience of the product.

Instructions for updating for existing users:
1. When you receive the following auto-update prompt, quit Box Drive by clicking on the Box Drive icon in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (macOS), clicking the gear icon, and selecting Quit.  Then click "Update."

2. If you did not quit Box Drive before clicking Update, you will see the following prompt.  Quit Box Drive and then click "Proceed" to continue the update.

3. Box Drive should launch after the update is complete

Is this update only for Windows, or will my Mac users get an update as well?

Hi @acivory,

This should be for all users both Windows and Mac.

Hello,

Is there a coming update to Box Drive that will include the ability to lock files? Will the Box Drive application be able to show indicators on a file that is locked?

Thanks!

Are you going to integrate the sync feature? This is really a good product, however we need sync feature as the design team is working on various files that can be only accessed via sync.
