Box Local News and Updates

We've been incredibly encouraged by the number of customers who come out to Box Local events globally as well as the dynamic and thoughtful conversations that happen at these peer-to-peer gatherings. Our vision for Box Local has always been that these are communities for Box customers and content management strategists to come together to network, learn and thrive together. You, our amazing customers, have come out in droves to live this vision with us.

With great momentum supporting its growth, we are excited to officially unlock Box Local ownership to our valued customers.

Over the last year, we have built the necessary resources to enable and support our customers in starting and fostering a community with their peers in their local city, and we are ready to share those resources with you!

We currently have Box Local chapters in a number of cities worldwide. If you do not see a Box Local chapter in your city and are interested in starting one OR taking a leadership role in an existing Box Local chapter, please email the Box Local Team to learn about next steps.

Box Local was always meant to be for customers and by customers, and this is the beginning of that tradition. We cannot wait to see all the Box Local chapters flourish!

Happy New Year everyone!

After a year of meeting and connecting Box customers, we are more excited than ever about the communities of IT professionals that are forming in cities in the US, Europe and Japan. It’s invigorating to get so many content management strategists together talking about what’s working, what’s not and where they are taking their companies!

With the start of the new year, we have a few announcements to share that will better serve our customers as our customer communities continue to expand:

Box User Groups are now Box Local

To better represent the content management strategists coming to our events, we are officially updating our name! More than a name change, we are instilling a lot of discipline behind the scenes to ensure that each Box Local is a valuable experience for attendees. And to make certain that Box Local will always be for customers, our intention is that Box Local will soon be run by customers. More on this soon.

Box Local is going online

The Box Local events in each city have been extremely engaging (thanks, of course, to our amazing customers!), and we consistently hear that folks want to keep the conversation going after the event has ended.

To make that happen, we've launched Box Local groups – here on Box Community – for Box Local ChicagoBox Local Bay Area, and Box Local DC. More cities will be coming online soon. Benefits of the new groups include:

  • Join the Box Local in your city to find and stay connected year-round to other members or your Box Local group.
  • Easy to locate your city's Box Local content and see updates and discussions in one place.
  • Our Box Local leaders will have additional abilities to manage and promote their city's events, and easily communicate with the group.

We're really excited about these changes, and hope they will serve our Box Local groups even better in 2018 and beyond! If you have any questions or feedback, please post a comment below and let us know!

We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming Box Local near you.

Wow it's finally here! We are so excited to see you in person at BoxWorks 2017.

Let's help each other get the most of BoxWorks and celebrate together!

Box customers unite!
Box User Groups are events for customers to get together to network, learn from each other and celebrate the innovative work you're doing.
Our goal is not to make these events and conversations all about Box; our goal is to enable content management discussions - the challenges you're facing; your goals and objectives and, as a collective local group, how you can help each other solve problems and thrive.
Upcoming Box User Groups
We have great customer speakers lined up at both events as well as plenty of time for networking! All Box customers welcome. Register to join us today!
Reflecting back, we've actually been hosting Box User Groups informally over the last year or so. Seeing the great feedback you - our customers - have shared about these events, we've decided to double-down and bring more User Groups to you... both in-person in cities around the globe as well as online here on Box Community. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!
As we are building out a stronger program, we'd love your feedback! Tell us what you want to see from an event that is designed to help you network and learn from your peers in your city. Also, would you like to get involved to speak, host or attend? Email us at!
