New community site design and upgrade next week!

Community Manager

I'm happy to announce some major improvements coming to the Box Community next week!

We've taken your feedback to heart, and have used a number of the suggestions we've heard in this new design. Of course, there is much more to do to improve both site and content, but we hope these updates lay the foundation for many future improvements!

Highlights include:

  • Mobile responsive site - the Box Community will adapt its layout to fit different size screens, to present an optimal experience across your devices. It will be easier than ever to bring the community wherever you go!Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 5.12.21 PM.png

  • Improved navigation - more prominent search and slide out controls make for easy, consistent navigation across the site:Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 5.12.45 PM.png

  • Cleaner design - we tried to remove much of the clutter to provide a simpler and cleaner experience. If it is important, we want you to see it - but we also don't want you to miss it in the noise. Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 5.12.34 PM.png

The team has been hard at work making sure this upgrade will be as seamless for our members as possible. But we know changes of any kind can be tough - if you have any questions or want to know how your favorite feature is going to look/work after the upgrade, feel free to post below and I'll try to respond to as many as I can.

Looking forward to pulling back the curtain next week, and finally letting all of you experience what we've been working on!

Hi everyone!

Here are a few important additional notes about the upgrade:

  • There are no structure changes planned as part of this upgrade - the categories, forums, KBs and blogs will all be located in the same hierarchy, and are not affected.
  • No URL changes are expected, and users will not need to update any bookmarks or links as a result of this upgrade.
  • For any members who have switched to Topic view for forum messages in their preferences, this view has been deprecated and will not be available after the upgrade. If you like, you can check your settings and switch to Linear view before the upgrade to get a sense of what the new view will be like:Screen Shot 2017-09-28 at 3.55.17 PM.png
