Community Design Update and Maintenance Window Monday 10/2

Tonight we are launching the new Box Community design!


There will be a maintenance window tonight at 8pm PDT of approximately one hour, during which all community content will be inaccessible.

If you need to contact support during that timeframe, there will be a temporary Box Support email address on the maintenance page you can use to submit your case.


Here's recap of what's coming:


Clean new design

We worked to remove much of the clutter to provide a simpler and cleaner experience. If it is important, we want it right up front on every page - and we don't want you to miss it in the noise.

Mobile responsive

The Box Community will adapt its layout to fit different size screens to present an optimal experience across your devices. It will be easier than ever to bring the community wherever you go!

Improved navigation

We've added more prominent search and slide out controls make for easy, consistent navigation across the site and across devices.

What's not changing:

  • There are no structure changes - the categories, forums, knowledge bases and blogs are not moving.
  • No changes to URLs - all bookmarks and embedded links will work the same.
  • No subscription changes - if you've subscribed to community content, you will continue to receive updates.


The team has been reviewing every page across multiple devices and browsers to try to catch and fix every issue, but I'm sure there will be things we missed or use cases we didn't consider - if you see anything after the update, please post your feedback here and we'll respond as soon as we can.
